Well, I think Modern still applies in many senses today, but Postmodern applies as well. They overlap in so many different areas that it's often hard to keep track.

i don't know; i think it becomes a question of semantics. i look @ it the way it is defined with art--there's a big difference btwn. the modernists and contemporary artists. the word Modern suddenly becomes a title or a pronoun and not necessarily indicative of the definition of modern that one would find in the dictionary. so in this sense post-modern makes sense in the sense that it makes a statement in the face of a movement that has been historically defined as Modern; which again, does not mean contemporary but rather is either a pronoun or adjective used to label an era.....
