Hello all,

I have thought and prayed over this issue, but have no clear direction and was hoping some counsel from fellow beleivers could make the decision easier/clearer.

I will need to give you a little background for contexty (sorry)

it was my birthday aboutr a month ago and i did receive a decent sum of money. With this money i knew that i would spend a decent amount of it on xmas presents.

Every year a local church hosts charities. the charities set up a 'stall' and tell the people that attent the event what their charity is for. Then you can chiooise which charities you give money to.

For example, you could spend £6 and buy a sandal for someone who has leprosy. so after you give them the money after selecting you charities, they give you a ticket to sday you have made that donation on another persons behalf and then you give that tiocket to someone as a gift at christmas.

Basically, if i were to buy say two sandals then i would get two tickets.

Now i have a situation where i have more tickets than family members and i was wondering whether or not to give a ticket in the xmas card i am going to give my work colleagues.

I am worried this may cause friction at work, as some people are pretty hostile (not to me but in general).

(also i bought a number of 'tracts' from ray comforts website and i have a number of coins which have the gospel written on, and was thinking of putting one of them in the card aswell).

I wanted to get some opinions as to gioving out the tickets and/or gospel coins is a good idea or not.

Thanks a lot,

James.

P.s. the company i work for is a family run business and would not mind me sharing religious stuff with employers.

What does your firm or co workers normally do at Christmas?
Do they buy presents for each other, have a secret santa or just give Christmas cards?

If they don't give presents there is little point in giving them a token saying,' The £5;00 I would have spent on you has been spent on what ever charity..'

If they give christmas cards, then get explecit Christian cards and give those, with an invite to your churches Carol service and Christmas day service.

The excess charity donations are just that, charity donations.

Hello there,

It is my first year thyere, but from what i can make out they dont do anything, except that a couple of people have given out xmas cards.

I thought giving the tickets may encourage them to think of giving to people who have aslmost nothing, instead of themselves.

I do have some christian xmas cards which i could give out (do you think i should include the gospel coin?) and was going to write in each of them sometyhing like, "may the God of peace draw near you and bless you".

Sorry my reply is rather late for what ever you have chosen to do.

for when you return to work for what ever comments your colleagues make, there are two questions to remember.

Why do you say/believe that?

What evidence do you have for that view/beief?

Just be sure that you can answer those questions as well.

Hello John,

Thank you for the reply. I hope that you enjoyed Christmas day.

I decided to give only the inoffensively religious cards to people, and for the most part it went over okay.

I really appreciate the two questions you advised me to keep in mind, and they are ones that I needed to hear!
