  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you take 'em? Did you start out taking them and it kiltered off? Did you EVER take them? Did you even try????

I tried taking them but they ALWAYS made me sick. OTC, prescription....even the childrens vitamins...couldn't find anything I could keep down so I just quit altogether. My OB was fine with it til I went in this last time and she kind of raised an eyebrow @ me...what are your experiences with them?

The day after I told my mom I was pregnant, we went out to get some at the health food store. The horse pills and a liquid version. I took the horse pills for the first 3 months pretty religiously but then one day it triggered my gag reflex and after that I couldn't really motivate myself to take them. Yeah, my grandmother and doctor made faces at me for not taking them but.. ugh. I even tried the liquid stuff but it tasted like vitamin coating and looked like.. swamp in a cup. No thanks!
So now when I remember, I'm taking that Expecta DHA stuff.. dunno if it'll do any good but it was in a sample pack the doctor's office gave me. I'm also on Iron but that's because.. they told me to

I tried the Wal-mart ones first...made me sick no matter WHAT time I took em...same as the prescriptions...I even went so far as the kiddy vitamins...to no avail. I finally just gave up. Dr. said baby will get what he needs whether I take em or not. I just have to make sure I get mine.

My husband and I take the same four vitamins every day. They are quality although not necessarily prenatal, they have everything I need in them. I forget or feel to sick to take them roughly once a week, so six times a week isn't bad at all.
I firmly believe quality vitamins and both of us going to the chiropractor once a week is a big part of why we got pregnant the first week we tried...

I took my vitamins through every pregnancy. Some were prescription (earlier pregnancies) and then I switched to natural vitamins for my last 3 pregnancies.

For those of you who are having a terrible time with taking your vitamins or they're making you sick, you should try Floradix + Iron & Herbs. It's Plant based, a Liquid, and does Not have a horrid vitamin taste (it's rather a mild flavor actually). And the iron in it will Not make you constipated because it's plant based iron, not synthetic like regular iron tablets.

If you don't need the extra iron, then try the regular Floradix. :)

HTH~
