Fanmeir, the final retreat of the forgotten Wingley race, was located in the dence forests in northern Asheramaim. Long ago, after the fall of the God of Death, humans rose up and waged was against the struggling Wingley, who had lost their abillity to weild magic many years prior. For years the two races waged war across the country of Claim to the north. Over time however, the coflict reopened the knoledge of the Wingley's magical heiritage, but not even the unearthed gift was enough to sway fate and the vengful human rage. In the end the Wingly were forced to retreat south out of Claim into the enchanted forests of Ashetamaim. There they would rebuild themselves and live in peace for many years.
Rein Grandel, son of the ledgendary wingley Loyde, was the first to regain his magical statous, and thus thrusting him into a position of great pride. He was charged with leading his people in a final retaliation. However, during a night raid, his eyes fell apon a young elf whom had been made slave to the humans. Going against orders, he expossed himself and his men to save her, and risked the lives of countless solders. The two fell in love, but Rein was stripped of his command for his impulsive actions. During the retreat south he again defied his superiors and went back to insure that she traveled along. For this he was publicly whipped and demoted from knight to commoner. He and Alatariel married though, and soon after had ther first child, Logan. After only ten months their second, Olivia, was born. At last it would seem Rein and the Wingley had found peace.

On the mountain slopes of Blane's Ridge, west of Fanmeir, Lucien and his band pushed over the trecherous peaks. His lord had sent him out to find new ground to regroup their forces. After nearly three decade of fighting the tribes of Glame had broken into the North Lands and left the Harcross with little choise but to flee.
Lucien looked out over the living world of Ashetamaim, a world that had since forgotten about its undead neighbors to the east. A smirk crossed his young face as he looked to the dancing flames and lights that glimered in the forest before him. A perfect place to replenish lost clansmen, and hidden enough to stay out of sight. It was decided. At sunset in a week they would march on Fanmeir.
