  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It really depends on my mood...most of the time I don't care either way, then I have times where I need to be around others and times where I need to be by myself. I live by myself so I end up alone most of the time, but there are certain things I won't do by myself and it's more out of my shyness than anything else; like eat at a restaraunt or go to a movie theater.

I enjoy doing things on my own, when it refers to things like homework, fabrication projects, and things other people dont generally understand..... now watch movies by myself.... yes i do watch them alone but my companion is knowing that my home theatre system will rip your head off when the explosions go off. just brings a huge smile to my face, but id much rather do things with my very beautiful and wonderful significant other

I enjoy doing things on my own too.
I love to go and walk alone if it's daylight.
And that I love to go to the library and spend all the time that I want.
As well as other place like bookstores.
I was & am born a loner.
I love to also go to movies in which I get to pick.
And nobody for me.

If I want to go see a movie, I don't want to have to find someone to go with me. If they're all busy, I'll go by myself. Same thing with going out to eat. I have learned, tho, that you get worse service when you're alone, so I tend to avoid nicer places for that reason.

I have a co-worker who's married & she won't do anything without her husband. She & some friends talk about having a "girl's weekend", but she says she won't go b/c hubby won't be there. It works for them, but I'd go nuts waiting for hubby.

Same here, jlhart76! I don't want to be restricted to having my husband's company all the time. But then again, I'm sure she must enjoy being with him more than anybody else.

Eh ... I was just thinking of something. It makes sense that most people are replying that they're fine being alone and some even prefer it. Why? Because we who enjoy hanging out in cyberspace are already a self-selected group of people with a disposition to be by ourselves! :p

I have no problems doing stuff alone. I have always done things on my own. I have found that as my friends have become older the less likely they want to do the things I enjoy. in the summer it is always "too hot" to go for walks or a bike rides In the winter it's to cold to go out side and enjoy skiing. In the end most of my friends just want to sit around and play cards, which to me is a waste of tiome. So I do things on my own...You shouldn't worry about doing things on your own...Just do it...

I can relate. The one friend I have that is still single never wants to do anything that requires physical activity. It's annoying because I am sedentary during the week with work unless I make it to my employer's gym (which happens less than it should!). I want to enjoy the beautiful scenery, etc... Those who just want to sit around and play video games, cards or watch tv are missing out. I go to the park and walk or do whatever else I can do alone and enjoy myself. I've been known to sit at home alone and pop in a movie too. I did this to 'escape' for awhile the night my grandfather died.

One thing a lot of singles have trouble with is eating out alone. I do it all the time and it doesn't bother me. If it's a 'sit down' restaurant, I'll just bring a book or something to occupy myself while waiting for my food.

hmm...Most of the time I do things on my own, just cause I'm used to it. Being around ppl has sorta...become weird and uncomfortable.
...although I do enjoy others' company sometimes.

hmm I have had ppl get mad at me for "soloing". But I don't see anything wrong with it. lol Wasn't really a choice for me back then, why should it matter now?

For some weird reason, I like to eat alone and watch movies while eating. Afterwards, I'll shut the movie off and go on to whatever I was doing. At work, I like to eat alone and read the WSJ. I won't turn down an invitation but I prefer it.

is this bad?

...when I used to go to this one church, I mostly sat alone but occasionally an acquaintence would invite me to sit with her. I accepted her invitation but never made it a habit to go sit with her because 1. she sang loudly and off-key during worship and 2. she sometimes liked to talk during the sermon. She was a nice lady and I don't want to say bad things about her. Hey, I can't sing either but I also don't do it loudly. lol As for the sermons, that's 99% of why I go to a church....it certainly hasn't been much due to fellowship in my own experience. :-(

So what I'm simply saying is at church most generally I like to sit alone.
