Predestination

Hi everyone. I have heard that Presbyterians believe in predestination. Well, I am interested in possibly joining a Presbyterian Church but first I want to get my questions about Presbyterian theology answered.

Is it true that Presbyterians believe in predestination? If so, how does one defend this belief in predestination? What verses in the Bible support predestination?
