If Jesus is a relationship as Christians point out, then in what capacity does the Christian show this to be true? If Jesus is the truth, and that truth is about a relationship, then everything he created was for the sole purpose of a relationship. Is this how Christianity appears before the world? [A people who are expressing a right relationship with each other, and the world]

Or do Christians today care little about that side of the equation?

The first verse in the Bible is: "In the Beginning God Created the Heaven AND the Earth" (Genesis 1:1) The word AND can separate and divide or the word AND can UNITE as in husband and wife are united in a marriage. Our Union with Jesus is to be as a marriage. Earth is to become as Heaven is. We are told to pray: "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:10) Every letter in the Bible. Every stroke of the pen tells the story of Jesus. As soon as the pen touches the paper and forms a dot that represents the big bang at the beginning of our universe (cosmos). So every letter in the Bible began at the begining of the universe or cosmos. Contained in the word Beginning is that Jesus was given as a grain offering so that Heaven and Earth could be united and become as one. This is the beginning and we have a whole Bible that explains this in greater detail.

John 13:35, Jesus says that the only way the world will know is if we love one another

You make a good point...

Christian community is a neglected demonstration of the relationship we talk about.

Fair enough.

But isn't a true relationship with Jesus dependent on how you relate to other people?

1 John 4:20
20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

When we are truly in love with truth, everything real is loving. (not a typo).
Are you talking about a feeling of love here? Because what of your other 5 senses could you use to experience a feeling?

I believe the atonement was twofold. Jesus died to reconcile us with the Father, but He also died to reconcile us with each other. We are all living stones being fitted and joined together.

What is love?

Outside of nature & nurture, provide evidence that a universal love is real.

1 Corinthians 13 1
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Truth is unconditional love. Reality is based on what is true, not on what we want it to be, want we want to see, feel, taste, hear, or smell. Hence, why Jesus kept saying, 'those with ears to hear' (not with 'self' censoring the sound waves at the ear to mean something else).

Reality, uncensored / altered / distorted is true and loving. Is it a feeling? Like living water overflowing from heart's cup.

That is a belief not a verifiable fact.
It is scientifically possible that the whole universe originated from light beams. So the force that created those light beams would be greater than the light itself, and therefore how could anything reach beyond the expanse of that light?

If this is the case, why is the whole of Christianity divided?

The reason people don't see & hear, is because they only believe what they see & hear. :)
