  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Precious Gems

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

Psalm 56:8 You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one of them in your book

I love the idea that the Lord collects each of my tears & saves them in a special place. The Lord feels and understands our pain. The shortest and most touching verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept" (John 11:35). He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort -- He is right there, everpresent, to comfort and carry us thru our pain.

But this isn't the best part! 2 Corinthians promises that if we give our pain to God -- he can use it for His glory. Again in Psalm 126:5 -- He promises that those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. Our tears can be turned into precious gems for God, if only we come to Him for comfort and allow Him to use our pain. Look at the precious jewel of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ!

Next time when experiencing pain and sorrow remember to run to the Lord for comfort, He is the only one who can give you not only comfort & peace -- but who can turn our tears into His treasure!

He Cares
Cecily Benton

Priceless child,
yes I'm here.
In the dead of the night,
to conquer every fear.

Yes I see the tears escape,
but I assure you love,
pain's no mistake.

Because I love you,
I cry when you cry.
Place your tears in a jar;
stored on high.

I'll take the pain that's
hurt your heart.
Make it a blessing,
a fresh new start.

Thank You for Your Son Jesus who feels our pain so deeply. Next time we experience pain, O Lord, help each of us 'run' to You -- the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. Thank You that as we do this we will find Your comfort and peace. Thank You Lord that You will turn each of our tears into You treasure for Your glory if only we give You our pain. Help each of us give You our pain. In the name of Jesus Christ.

God's Perfect Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1... There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven...

I have to share how God used yesterday's devotion Precious Gems to show me not only His truth in those promises but also His perfect timing and care of His children. My heart has been broken since I left the episcopla church around 1 year ago. I have not yet found a place in my new church to use my gifts -- at times this is extremely frustrating -- it feels as if a piece of my soul is missing.

Anyway, out of this pain I wrote Precious Gems. Last night was difficult again -- I was sitting in front of the computer in tears. I ended up reading something I wrote before about broken hearts (link below).

http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/karen_trust/PrayerLog/June2004.html#Broken_Heart

It reminded me that the Lord does have a plan for me & He will heal my broken heart.

Right after I was reassured of His plan I got this email:

****ankyou for Precious Gems - this could not have
<come at a better time as I sat in front of my computer,
<crying and and then I read the passages you sent
<me......and they dried my tears. Praise God!

<Love, Peace & Joy - Carol

This mail dried my tears! It was proof to me that He is using my pain to touch someone else's heart. He is healing my heart. This brings me great comfort!

I find this amazing - He used each of us to dry each others tears. He not only demonstrated His truths in Precious Gems but showed His perfect timing & care.

This has lifted me up!

He DOES have a plan for each of us & He will use our tears for His glory.

Thank You Lord for Your perfect timing, Your grace and care for each of Your children. Thank You for demonstrating that there is a plan for each of us & You will use our tears for Your glory. Thank You Lord for giving us this glimpse of Your perfect timing and care. Thank You for strengthening our trust in You. Help each of us come to You with our pain. In the name of Jesus Chrsit our Lord.
