If you wish - You and I can go up to the Temple Moiunt in Jerusalem and anoint it with oil as a prophetic action and testify to the return of Adonai (the Lord Jesus Christ)- the end of Islam as the last of the Giants and the release of the captives from Jewish tradition - and you will see the power that signifiers have when faith is applied.

In His Love.

Zayit - Here's what I know about anointing oil. It is symbolic of Christ and His anointing also it is sybolic of Passover where the blood was smeared on the doors. I have seen a lot of good happen when anointing oil was applied by God's direction. Especially where healing is concerned. See Mark 6:13; James 5:14 Personally, I don't use oil unless I really sense the Lord urging me to. It is too easy to get into supersitions. It's not like it's magic or something! When He has directed me to use it, marvelous things have happened! Remember, God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. Come on, Jesus used spit and mud too!

That's how I understand it. I was a bit wary of trying this, because of the possibility of allowing superstition to creep in, but thanks to the encouragers here, (thank you especially Furrysmommy for practical advice last night), I resolved the issue and decided to do it.

This morning after reading the word, praying, and playing worship music, I annointed my home; doors, windows, certain articles as I went round.

You're right to say it's not a magic formula, but a lovely illustration of spiritual truth. As you say, we do this as the Lord leads us.

Welcome to the forum by the way Praiser!

God bless, Susana

Hi All

My wife is a non-christian and when she is sleeping i wake up coz she is abusing me, well not her but gues who.

Sometimes its real bad, verbal abuse and physical abuse.
Nightmares are the common ones.

So I done my own little test and for a time I never used any oil and my wife had more episodes.

Then I used the oil and she slept like a baby.

I would put the a drop of annointed oil that been prayed by the whole church on her pillow, also my wife is not aware of the oil and she is not a christian.

Make of it what you will !!

It definetly worked for me and i dont use the oil all the time, infact not for a long time.

But i seem to remember Paul used hankerchiefs and healed people once he prayed over them, correct me if im wrong.
Paul was not the only one who had used them, many people have.

God Bless all

I agree...I don't use anointing oil but I have prayed over cards and letters before and the person get healed. Just because I couldn't be there in person to lay hands on them. Although if I don't know the person well, I want another set of hands there...:)

I've also told someone (again long distance) on the phone to pray over her medications because she was having side effects and the side effects stopped...Silly???

That's what I told her...Ummm...This might seem silly but pray over your medications and Bless it...just out of the Blue...kinda shocked me that I said that..I was  ing my head for some time after I told her that...

Why not? Most Baptists say a Blessing over a meal as well as other Christians...

ZayIt:

I am sorry your feelings got hurt but to be honest...Jim has posted many times as have the rest of the names you listed and I don't recall seeing your name only on this thread and perhaps it wasn't personal at all was it? Or stupidity? Maybe timing is everything and subject?

I personally saw your post and thought that someone would have a better answer than myself because I am rather awkward with words and I didn't know if you sincerely wanted to know or if your testing our knowledge and I thought I would just stick to things that I post without wondering which approach to take....

I see you have posted many times on the forum and so you know your way around and not as though you were new and so I assumed you knew and it was for those who didn't know to post a "I don't know ...please tell me answer" so you could display your knowledge...

I hope you will ease up though on those who didn't because this is a great bunch around here even when it gets sticky here....and I hope you will fellowship on some of the threads they start.

Blessings,
NewSong
