Praying the Typica

I am looking for a sort of "dummies" guide to praying the Typica. For example, throughout the Typica, you see things like "pray the Troparia for the day" and "the prokimena." Is there a guide that teaches you how to properly pray the Typica?

I've been using this Typica: Typika.

I would be interested in this as well. It seems as if liturgics are a kind of esoteric knowledge that takes twenty years to learn.

that seems like a pretty good guide. the kontakia and troparia are the hymns for whatever you are remembering that day. so follow that guide, face East if you can, and pray.

If you want to invest in a book you can purchase The Great Horologion which I believe has all the movable parts for each day.

But if you don't have the money at this time or just want something simple I suggest visiting the OCA Calendar or GOARCH Calendar to find the kontakia and troparia for the day.

Well, for Sundays, it's easy to find things that say, "All right, December 3rd 2017, here are all the troparia and kontakia for the day and what order to pray them in." OCA.org has the service texts, for one example. I don't think there are any sites that do this for every day, but they will certainly tell you at least part of what you need and you can call it good enough - The Dynamic Horologion And Psalter has them.
