Praying in tongues

This may have been discussed before, but I wonder if someone can tell me what people mean when they say that they are praying in tongues. Thanks

Praying in tongues is when God gives you the ability to speak in heavenly languages. It is normally associated with speaking during prayer. Some Christians believe that all Christians should be able to speak in tongues while others believe it is a gift of the spirit that only some will be given.
