  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow I just opened up the flood gates! I was at church last night and heard a message on praying for people. It was really more about praying for people as a way to evangalise. It made sence to me that we often seem to thing evangalism is preaching to people but the truth is many times people need to feel cared for. Many people feel God does not care for them but when you pray for them...stand back and watch their ideas change.

I sent out a bulletin asking people if they had anything they wanted prayer for. In 4 hours I had 8 requests with people opening up to me their most painful needs. People really seem to respond to this!

I encourage everyone to offer prayer for someone this week. Then go ahead and pray with them right then. Don't just say "I'm praying for you." Let them hear it so that they know you mean it! It will really make people feel better and cared for. That will help spread the good news of Christ!
