  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An intelligent understanding of the issues my friend.

See if we rely on our own love or ability to stand our ground we would crumble into a heap and like David play mad man to escape our doom.

It is for us to understand that WE haven't got the love, faith and hope it takes to be a good believer to be a good believer.

It wasn't until I knew for sure that I lacked all ability to do anything right that I dared let Jesus take over the reigns.

I love life on my knees - it is awesome what He has done there for me:thumbsup:

Can you see those horses trampling???

Bit by bit God's truth is convicting you of the loveless essence of your soul. What I like of you is that you are to intelligent and honest to pretend you don't see you own inability - you are indeed being emptied out my friend and searching brother - it is all this you have to let go - such is the dying of the flesh.

Don't worry about those around you though - keep your eyes peeled on Jesus:thumbsup:

Oh Come, Glorious Judgement!

Judgement Day begins when you meet up with Jesus,
He will search out your heart completely,
dividing the sheep from the goat!

He will address your inner unlovingness with His love,
and chase the clinging coldness away,
from death setting your soul wholly free!

Truly Judgement Day, is a day of ecstatic joy,
freedom for all those hurting and killed,
Only His Loving Truth ruling your inner reality.

Bad religion shall no longer cause any bother,
As His loving joy now finds deeper root,
Lush growth replacing all the deadness!

Yet Judgement Day will be the end of your fear,
As no terror may travel on The Way,
All of you in union, praising the Lamb!

Your big I, gets new function in the rear,
Loving Jesus ruling as king in place!
You loving our Heavenly Father dearly.

In all your life's deeds The Son you'll meet,
Answerable for all that you have done,
In good and bad His truth visiting you!

Judgement Day is about being rightly placed,
good and loving upfront - to B(b)e -
all bad behind - passing away!

So if Christ gives us faith then I assume that means everyone is given faith. Well obviously everyone is not saved so if Christ is responsible for my salvation and all of it based on what you are saying, even the faith part. Does that mean he picks and chooses whom is saved? Also, I know time and time again you say don't heed doubt but when I tell myself it is time to believe I am saved and forget doubt something else comes up. It almost seems that untill I give up porn God will not fellowship with me. And this is a long process as I have to continue to apply the word to renew my mind so it might take forever to overcome lust with the help of the holy spirit. I want to know what it is like to walk in spirit and pray in the spirit. But I will go back to it again, there are too many people who are deceiving themselves for me to think I am not much different. There is nothing that has happened in my life to my knowledge which would make me any different than those who are deceiving themselves. Many people on his forum seem to be in constant fellowship with God and have intimate time with him. I don't see anywhere in the bible of someone in my situation. The bible refers to me as a fool and that paradoxes being a child of God. It seems the more I read the more I realize I am probably on the broad way to destruction. You might say Good! You realize you are nothing without christ and he is the only good in the world!! Well that does not help me.

The problem is not the porn as much as you who knows you are doing wrong when you watch it and long after such things.

Why haven't you gone to God for help?

To hold onto faith even though you are like that - indeed when you are in your need for porn to go to God and tell Him what is up, and how you feel about it and how you would want sex to be - is the wisest thing you could ever undertake here. For that way you give The Word a change to defend your God given right to good clean satisfaction and glorious enjoyment.

But if you keep heeding the accuser on the one hand and following the tempter on the other hand - letting those evildoers kill your God given faith in God's love fro you. Then of course God is not going to be pleased with you being unloving like that and you will burn your needs more instead of less.

So dear friend let faith in Jesus turn you into a loving and forgiving person!
See what happens to your lustful sinful you when you let God's forgiving love in that part of your life - for before you know it, you will begin to see why porn is no good and sex with God is greatest - especially after you truly understand you deserve to go to Hell for longing after sex all wrongly, and your inability to stop being like this from yourself, but being saved by Jesus anyway.:clap::clap:

For isn't true that from yourself porn would be the way you like to do things - it is this the Jesus wants you to unlearn - but you are going to need His love inside you the lustful one to do that - so you are going to need faith to receive His love - and stop listen to the harlot tempting you out of god;'s truth into the sinful lies porn teaches about sex and sexuality.

As it is now Romans 8 is not true for you - for sin stands in the way between experiencing God's gracious love in your life, indeed at the moment you must first stop being a sinner before God's love becomes available - but my dear friend and brother - could you trust those kind of lies guiding you?

They got you nowhere up to now - when are you going to belief that god loves you though you love wrongly? And He loves it even more if you let Jesus teach you how to love rightly - that is why He made grace available to us. So we could go to Him for help.

I say God loves you though you do porn - and challenge you to get to know His love while you do porn and see if His way of doing sex is not heaps better than burning and must have control over such an important part of your life or if you would want God to take care of your needs here.

Believe you me, brother lusting got me far less good sex than loving true has brought me - and the enjoyment of not burning need?

Jesus is the One you want in control over your sex life mate - He knows perfectly well what you need and how to give it to you.

Do you believe in Him to help you though - or do you believe the porn queens smiling at you shaking their flesh so enticingly?

The choice is yours to make.

I don't love God because I don't obey God.

No, that's how you know you don't love God. I asked you why you don't love Him. God asks us to obey Him because we love Him, not in order to love Him. Obedience comes out of love; it doesn't produce love.

For me to love him the holy spirit would have to work with me so I live love, not trying to act kind.

God's Spirit doesn't just force you to love God; He doesn't thrust His love upon us against our will. The Bible tells us that we love God because He first loved us. That is, our love springs out of our understanding of God's love for us. The deeper and fuller our understanding of God's love the greater our love for Him will be.

So, what do you understand of God's love for you?

After watching the peoples faith tested in CHina in a thread in this forum I am not sure if I would pass the test of faith. I think the devil is persecuting, but for some reason I feel if I am not getting persecuted because of my faith by humans I am not a believer.

If Christ was persecuted, his followers should expect the same.

For the first time in a many days, when someone called me a name I didn't respond back with a typical "your an idot insult" I just didn't say anything and attempted to show sort of speak, in the second half of the day I went back to my old ways of calling people stupid and such.

Old habits die hard. Doing the hard thing, the right thing, is a joy when it is done out of love. And doing it in Christ's power and not your own is the only way it can be done.

It is hard to believe you are saved when so many people in church, who may seem like believers and appear to better christians for lack of a better term are deceving themselves. WHy would I not be different?

How do you know they are deceived? If you are aware of the deception, can you not avoid falling prey to it?

Selah.

don't know why I don't love God. I simply don't.

He loves humanity very much and was willing to pay the debt for our sins. He is merciful.

I know they are deceived because Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

And this is why God reaches out to us in love rather than waiting for us to reach out in love to Him. Left to ourselves, we would never love God; we love ourselves too much.

I have asked God to deepen my love for Him. He has answered my prayer. I think you ought to make the same request of God. Apart from God you will never be able to love Him as you should.

He loves humanity very much and was willing to pay the debt for our sins. He is merciful.

I think you should dial this statement in a bit: God loves you very much and paid the debt for your sins. He is mericful to you. It says something, I think, that you phrased things in such an impersonal way in your statement above.

When you think about yourself relative to God, what kind of thoughts go through your mind?

Song of Battle.

The arrows streak their flame.
I'm under attack again!
Opening the treasures of my defence,
His loving Word my only chance,
Of surviving the fiery weather.

"Do, don't, eat, abstain, go or stay."
Is what my inner attackers say.
Scornfully throwing their hate around.
My sins sissing at their sound.
With my own misery they surround.

Now one grabs me by the throat.
My life his scornful gloat.
"How can you trust in God's grace,
When I rub this dirt in your face?"
He demands in accuser's tone.

In humble voice I bow my head.
Lord can You hear what they said?
Yet who can charge Your elect?
Jesus sacrifice makes us perfect.
Please give me faith to stand.

His sword streaks its flame.
Attacking my enemies once again.
His loving Word fells them all.
In the fire of His love they fall,
A wonderful happy ending.

For Jesus is victorious over my sin.
Eternal life He for me did win.
Praises to Him from my heart swells.
As His Spirit of Truth in me dwells.
All glory to Him!

An awesome Bite you are presenting here my dear struggling friend:thumbsup:

How much is The Word in your favour?:amen:

You who are seeking The Lord because you know you have lawlessness inside of you and seek to be free from that the sins you have committed in that?

Truly this is the kind of Bite you want then isn't?

‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

That is what you want Jesus to tell those lawless ones in control of your heart - or not? So instead of stuck with lawless control over you, you can be saved from being like that and walk free? Such is the benefit of knowing Him brother, He fights for us and not against us - Rev 19.

The fear you feel inside of you when you contemplate God's Hell is what the Dragon casts on you for he has you bound by your own deeds - for which you haven't forgiven yourself and from which you have not been able to repent. That is why he can fry you. (Rev 8-17)

Also and what is more when you go on your knees for that abomination in your guilt and shame because he demands you do this or be like that, before you are saved and you haven't done it - then - as you have seen - you will loose your faith for heeding the accuser of the brethren is not wise when you need to grow in God's grace - for the prince of darkness has none - unless you conform to his demands and do as you are told - the king who sells at a price to be - and who steals your Good Life by killing what is God's within. Daniel 9-12

See if you are forced to heed fear hearing Jesus speak those Words of liberation to you - how well do you know Him then? And ask yourself which side of the fence are still you on?

Is that why you hear so much fear for Him in your heart - for you know you don't know Him - so how well will He want to get to know you? So please brother do HEED Him when He says.

‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

That is how we get free from our flesh - we die to it! (Rom 6-8)

So you who fears so much please let go of that fear - let Jesus Christ's awesome love over for you drive it out - so the lawless ones behind you terror - and guilty as charged - can fry instead of you.)

Such joy when those workers of iniquity cannot overmaster us any more and the Battle is going our Way and we taste Victory - as The Cross looms more and more and The Wailing in our hearts begins in earnest. (Rev 1) You'll be ecstatic when you reap in the Harvest of Love, Joy and Thankfulness when you are in His care - Rev 20!:clap::clap:

So brother sow God's gracious love into your sinful heart, and bring those lawless times accusing before His feet - so His (by now) Famous Words can cut you free from lawless spirit within and set you free to love truthfully in His everlasting Kingdom. Daniel 7:hug::hug::hug:

Forgive the intrusion friends, just wanted to comment if i may, thank you. If any one lack something they need, this includes love for God, just ask and you shall receive, not may receive but shall, meaning you will most definatly get anything that you "need" from God just by asking, or rather knocking on the door, keep knocking untill God answers. Keep seeking and you will find. Knowing you don't love God is a good thing, praise him for that and then ask him to help you even make you love Him and he will. If he doesn't answer right away, just keep asking untill he does, i personally testify to this, it works.

I think, am I his enemy still or am I child of God? That really is my question right now. I don't feel extra special being a child of God if I am. I feel like any other person. I continue to ask God to help me love but I see no improvement.

The bible says something about listening to your parents if you want a full life, don't remember where but pretty sure it's there. I still ask myself some of the the same questions sometimes. God is true to his word, fact. all i can say is wait on God and believe. Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened. The key is in seeking for the right things and knocking on the right door, and to do so until god opens or lets you find what you seek, in his perfect timing. I live by that, it's not always easy but not supposed to be and it works, the only thing Ive ever found that works. Don't get me wrong it's not that bad either, pretty good sometimes

i pray that GOD would grant you the patience to realize that He answers your prayers; but that you need the patience to trust that He indeed has hear's you,and has already answered alot of your prayer's! But that they will come to pass at the perfect time that GOD has already ordained! Patience & Faith are like 2 best friend's; besides, what's a month or two? i know at your age it probably seems like forever, but GOD has endless time, and ways to answer your prayer's, plus 1000 years is like a day to the LORD! Hang in there! Your prayer's are prescious in His sight!

I don't know what my heart says. I don't love God and just today I am beginning to ask myself,
Did I truly repent? Did I repent out of fear of Hell? Am I deceiving myself?

Repenting because we fear hell is the beginning of wisdom. Maybe your fear is correct, maybe we all need to feel hells flames around us no matter how good we are. I went through the same thing, do i repent because im scared or because i love God? Don't worry brother, fear is the beginning of wisdom, maybe God has some wisdom that you left behind somewhere accidentally and he wants you to have it. Just guessing, but its a good one i think.

There's nothing wrong with repenting out of a fear of hell, because that's how I got saved. As long as that fear brings you to Christ and you're willing to turn away from your sin and get right with God. If you're still sinning, that's the reason why you're struggling so much. When you sin, you grieve the Holy Spirit and Satan comes and falsely bears witness with your spirit that you're doomed. You need to add those things in 2 Peter chapter 1 to your faith, or you will continue to doubt and struggle. God won't answer your prayers either if you continue to sin, and then that will make you doubt as well.

If a perfect repentance was required for salvation, no one would be saved.

All true and good words, i went through this not to long ago, yes the fear brought me to stop sinning yet i still sin. But i fight it harder for sure, i do not bow to it anymore. Everything you have said was right on target. But also a testing of ones faith could be a reason for fear? idk

Sometimes you can learn more in one sentence by reading it slowly and pondering each word individually. Think of each words full meaning and how that word applies to the meaning of the whole sentence. Ive heard that said from others a couple times and have found it to be true.

Gods word the bible isn't like any other word, i don't think even one single word in it is useless. Words in the bible hold more meaning than other books i think.

Hey there,

I just read your thread about your struggles with Christianity and my heart went out to you. I just came across this website ten minutes ago and made an account specifically to try and help you.

It's very important that you understand that there is a difference between holding Christianity as an intellectual position, and being a true follower of Christ. Let me give you my own life as an example.

I was brought up in a Christian home and knew the Bible inside out. I continued to believe it until I was fifteen years old, when I encountered a year of spiritual turmoil. Of course, I didn't realise that at the time, I just thought I had intellectual issues with God. This got worse and worse until eventually I hated God for various reasons. I thought he was evil and I didn't realise how prideful and full of darkness I was. It was a really horrible experience for me though. Even prior to my conversion away from Christianity though, I never felt particularly close to God, he never answered my prayers (it felt like praying into the air) and I felt kind've dry and spiritually dead.

Eventually God intervened in my life in the most miraculous way. I went to a church service this one evening. There were worship songs, and I would skip lines which praised God because I hated him so much. I'm cutting this down significantly, but essentially I was walking away from the church afterwards when my dad suggested I go back for prayer. For some reason I agreed to, and so I went back. I tried to explain to the prayer team that I had some problems with the Bible but just broke down in tears. They came over and prayed with me in a combination of tongues and English for about fifteen minutes, in which time I cried my heart out in total despair. Then suddenly I experienced this incredible lightness and I just started to smile and smile. Then they asked me if I wanted to give my heart to Jesus and I said no, because I still had issues with God. Then they kept praying and the feeling of lightness increased. It was like an explosion of emotion in my chest. Then they asked me a second time if I wanted to convert and I said yes.

From that day forth, I was a different person. My intellectual issues with God just fell away and I realised they were actually spiritual issues. I had a relationship with Jesus now - that's what true Christianity is, you *cannot* be a true Christian unless you know God. After that you experience this process of continual transformation but you won't understand what I'm talking about right now.

This is what I believe you need to do. Read the New Testament and the verses which describe being a "new being in Christ" and stuff like that. There are also other important parts of being a Christian, like the Holy Spirit giving you insight into Bible verses and such. If these don't seem to apply to you, and you know in your heart that you don't have a relationship with Jesus, then that needs to change.

I advise that you do what I did. Go to a church and get two or three people to pray with you. Praying alone, in my experience, is not as effective as praying with others. Look at the faces of the Christians there and try and pick people with a certain lightness in their expressions (that's the Holy Spirit), or perhaps ask the church members if they can suggest the best people to pray with you (if anyone speaks in tongues, it's also a good sign that they'd be suitable to help you.) Possibly pray before you go that God will guide you to the right church and the right people. You also need to pray that God will take the opportunity to change your heart and transform you, to change your Christianity from an intellectual position to something in your heart, and that he will call you. Then, when you reach the church, pray the prayer of the new believer, of the person who accepts Christ into their heart. It doesn't matter if you've prayed it before- I had, but I didn't truly come to know Christ until the second or third time I'd said it. Perhaps modify the prayer a little to personalise it to you. Something along the lines of the following would be good (in my opinion:)

"Dear God. I know that I'm a sinner and that you're the only way to salvation. Please forgive me for everything I've done wrong, and come into my heart and transform me. Please change the embers of my faith into a fire. I forgive everyone else for wrongs that they have done me (name some specific people here if possible.) I've believed in Christianity previously as a position, but I've never had a true relationship with you. Lord, I want that to change. I want to love you and know how much you love me. I pray that you would help me. Amen."

I wish I could help you more. I would post my email, but I don't have the required post count. I can't even send you a PM, because I have to have ten posts. I'm sorry. I'll pray for you.

Thank you very much for telling about The Truth of Jesus and how you experience Him coming into your life. That is truly awesome!

Our brother here needs all the encouragement he can get. Leaving a life behind but having to embrace the dark unknown, is much more difficult than meeting His Light and following Him totally besotted ever after - that's for sure!

Your advise is greatly appreciated and very true.

Thanks again

Don't thank me, I don't deserve to be thanked. I'm not just saying that, I was full of darkness before. Thank God for what he has done in me and in millions of other people.

Was it you who sent me "blessings" via my private messages? The message said to "use them wisely" -- what do they do?
