CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm still praying for you.....
You may remember that I made a committment to pray for you and your family, and to continue to pray for you until you told us that you situation had been resolved - so I'm still praying....
(To all of us:
I think that it's important that when we make a committment to pray - we do it and stick to it. I have only learnt recently just how seriously God takes committments and expects us to keep them (even if they are made in opposition to His will). He sees the committments we make and looks to see us fulfil them.
I've said this, because I realise just how serious it is to make a committment to pray and fail to do so. I hope that when we say we will pray - we do actually do it and not just say we will. It is better not to make the committment unless you are SURE you are going to keep it.)
To Kirsten:
Having said that - I'm expecting God to bless both Sean and yourself because I know He wants to do you good and that He always hears our prayers (made in faith) and wants to respond.

Kristin - I'm still praying for you and Sean as well. It is hard to lay your heart out, and I have such great respect for your husband, and pray that God continues to bless you both with love, honesty, guidance, compassion, forgiveness, compromise, strength, faith, and laughter.
Martin - thank you for reminding us to keep our prayer committments. I have offered to pray for others and have found when life really gets busy, I have not always been timely in keeping my committment. I believe you are very right when you say that God looks for us to fulfill our committments, prayer and otherwise. It is a reminder that is needed and appreciated. ~kim
