My fiance and I are only a month away from marriage and we've been saving sex until marriage. We are so close to the day when we can finally be one flesh, yet the battle feels like it's getting stronger and stronger. Please pray for us, that God would keep us away from lustful thoughts and desires. Thank you!

So, from what I hear, the consummation of marriage is an amazing experience. YET... perhaps not quite as fulfilling as you might expect.

Like a chocolate bar on the kitchen counter that you have to walk by all day long... Of course you want to eat the chocolate bar and the idea of eating it just tempts you more and more. But if you actually give in and eat it... was it really so amazing you couldn't have waited a little longer? Of course not. It's delicious, but never worth the guilt of giving in.

Just my two cents.

I have prayed that both of you would see the bigger picture of you together AND CHRIST. This is a covenant before Him. He is waiting to be married to His bride, the church. He wants no spots or wrinkles or any blemishes for His bride.

Take it one day at a time. Do not get yourselves in compromising situations or places or with the wrong people. Do things this last month TOGETHER with others to provide protection as well, that can help you. You will NEVER regret waiting until your marriage. Your joy in waiting will be amazing! Those will be memories that will strengthen you through the years, ever growing more & being a witness in your marriage in this life--concerning the mystery of Christ & His bride, being His reflection.

Thank you Mathetes. Yes, we're trying to keep close to our church during this time and our pastor has been giving us amazing pre-marital counseling. All that is helping on top of staying in the Word and in prayer, but sometimes the flesh is just so strong. We really appreciate your prayers!

Do not beat yourself up for having those hormonal urges. They are just part of nature, though you are wise to pray about them so that you can resist them until the time is right. You will both be so glad that you waited.
