I've been taking break from Catholic Answers Forum because I was stabbed in the back there hard. I've recovered from most of the betrayal, but there is still one episode that I'm struggling with, that occurred on my final day there, I was really struggling with it yesterday evening and just this morning.

On my final day there, this Benedictine Oblate started talking to me, and I really believed he was trying to help me, (it's true that, in a sense, he meant well, but only in a very narrow-minded and condescending way) but as things progressed it became clear right away that he was hostile. I tried to give him the benefit of doubt and reason with him, but I just couldn't take it snapped him, I have since apologized for that, but I still struggle with anger at him for how he stabbed me in the back, and just obstinate and narrow-minded he was.

Can you all please pray, that I can forgive him, and heal from this betrayal?

Prayers for your intentions. We human beings in general are not perfect. Those of us that follow Christ are not either. Prayers you can move on in a more productive direction.

It's the internet, do yourself a favour and don't take anyone on it to seriously.
I'll pray for you on a general basis.

May Mary guide you.

this too will pass.
I know the feeling, but I've also found that both time and distance are great healers, and that in the end it's what we choose to accept that actually wounds us.
The words of anger only have whatever power we give to them, but by themselves and left alone they loose all power over us.
I agree that the only way to avoid some of the hurt is to leave at the first sign of animosity--thus destroying whatever power it might have exerted over you.

Sometimes there is an alternative in these cases.

When confronted by those who will not listen we can ask that another person be chosen to work with us. I've done that and had a fruitful outcome from the experience, so never be afraid to ask for an intervention and a fresh start--Jesus is famous for giving both, BTW.
When doing so, state both your reasons as well as your hope for a fruitful outcome in that request, and see if it isn't answered in the affirmative.
