  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, friend. I’m sorry to hear of the death of your dad. I’m sure that there will always be a special and tender place in your memory for your father as long as you live. I’m praying for you and your family, that the Lord may comfort you whenever you hurt. If you have time to read, I'd like to suggest that you check out the book: Experiencing Grief, by H. Norman Wright. It’s written to encourage those who have recently endured a loss. May God strengthen and uphold you during this time.

Dear Lord, the pain Shoetoyou and his family multiplies each day as they try to cope with this great loss. They each feel alone and burdened. No one understands, and at times it seems no one cares. Help them to keep their eyes focused on you, Lord. Only You can release them from this prison of grief, only You can free them from these chains of mourning, grant their hearts peace, now and the rest of their days, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Father, may we always remember that grief is acceptable and proper, and something we should allow ourselves to experience for good emotional health. May we then also in time come to focus on the utter joy that believers experience after death, and allow that to bring us some comfort. May we grieve with the grieving, and rejoice with those that rejoice, both in their proper times. Amen.
