I hope you guys are not sick of me yet. Here is the short version of what is going on:

My step daughters mother has decided to back out on the whole arrangement. She misses her and just wants her to come home. Meanwhile nothing has changed. There is no sign of repentance in my step daughter, no resolve to do better. She just wants to get back to her friends and her life the way that it was. Which included a lot of really, really dangerous behavior.

My husband and I have turned our lives upside down to provide a suitable environment for my step daughter. We have taken on financial burdens that cannot easily be undone. I have no idea whether I should try to get my job back or wait this out or what.

The mother is on her way now to pick her up. She still has legal custody. Please pray for us.

I'll be praying. I hope you can convince that a lot of TLC is what your stepdaughter needs, not "let's put everything back the way it was and pretend nothing happened".

Prayers....Have you and your husband considered attempting to get the custody arrangements changed due to the needs of your stepdaughter?

Well here mom finally picked her up. I had a pretty good talk with her about home schooling as an option. She insists that she had not made up her mind to take her back home.

I prayed an Akathist to the Theotokos, lit candles, gave my prayer rope a work out and burned incense. Now all that is left is to wait and continue to pray
