Prayers Of a Stubborn Man
Prayers of a stubborn man
by millerrod
Prayers of a stubborn man
With wrinkles upon his face
With callouses upon his knees
With holes in the shoes
Resting upon his feet
Sickness creeping all around
Scared to show its face
Falling to his prayers
Like a fallen
Old rotting tree
Through the prayers of a stubborn man
With wrinkles upon his face
With callouses upon his knees
With holes in the shoes
Resting upon his feet
Prayers of a stubborn man
Hate and anger
Violence all around
Burning like a blazing fire
Fading ever so quickly
As the fire turns
To smoke and smoldering brush
Through the prayers of a stubborn man
With wrinkles upon his face
With callouses upon his knees
With holes in the shoes
Resting upon his feet
Prayers of a stubborn man
Tears upon his cheeks
Smiling ever so wide
Never asking
Never wondering why
Just slowly wiping
The tears from his eyes
Evils unfolding
Then consuming itself
Feeding upon the lonely
Feeding upon the weak
Yet with all this strength
Evil falls victim
To the prayers of a stubborn man
With wrinkles upon his face
With callouses upon his knees
With holes in the shoes
Resting upon his feet
So when you go walking
Stumbling and falling
Upon the ground
Blind to the world
And the darkness around
Know in your heart
Because you have been told
Know thats its true
Somewhere there is a stubborn man
With wrinkles upon his face
With callouses upon his knees
With holes in the shoes
Resting upon his feet
Who is on his knees
Praying for YOU
