I have been visiting this forum for a while, but this is the first Thread I have started. I am requesting prayers for someone very dear to me. He is suffering so much and has mentioned ending his life. He accepted Jesus in his heart a while ago but has shut him out for some time now and is struggling getting back. His father committed suicide when he was younger and he found his body. He is not "living" as he puts it, he is just trudging through his days. He is a wonderful man and though at "mid life" still has so much left to look forward to. I am sad and scared for him. I have been praying a lot and discussing his situation with him. I believe, at this point, he needs a lot more prayers. Thank you and God Bless!

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm praying for your friend.Has he seen a doctor? There have been some studies to indicate that depression and suicide can run in families. It may be an inbalance of some kind that can be helped with medication.
Whatever the case may be, I pray God leads him through this and helps him to see all that he has to be thankful for and all that he has to live for. May God comfort him and grant him inner peace.

Open his eyes and heart to the many things that You do for all of us every day. Remind him of what You gave so that he might be called Your child. Fill him with thy HOLY SPIRIT and with an unquenchable thirst for thy WORD of TRUTH. Help him to yield to the SPIRIT's leading and give him a desire to serve thee fully each day. Watch over and protect him and give him peace and happiness as only those who belong to You can truly have. Bless him abundantly through thy riches in paradise. Give him direction and purpose in this life. May he become a great source of blessing unto all that You bring into his life and in turn be blessed by them. He is seeing his doctor tomorrow. I suggested he mention how he is feeling. He was trying to come up with excuses why he couldn't ask, but that he doesn't want to continue the way things are now. I told him "Ask for help adn he will recieve it."RJ1 said:

Praying for your friend, that he may be blessed with healing and that he will receive help from the doctor he is seeing tomorrow, that he may be open with his doctor so that his depression may be treated.

Lord I pray for healing of mind and peace in the soul of this brother who is suffering. I pray you surround him with your protection so the darts of the enemy will not pierce his mind or his heart. In Jesus name, I pray..amen.

Heavenl Father, i pray for this guy. Lord, please help him out Lord, he is struggling through life, avoiding you. Lord, i pray that you would provide him with a way to get back into knowing you, and that he would change his attitude to life from trudging through it to devoting everything that he does to you. Father, i pray that you would aid him in every steep that he takes, and that he would be able to become a blessing to those around him. Lord, renew his heart i pray, in Jesus' name, amen

Dear heavenly Father, please help Lionesss friend during the darkest time of his depression; may he feel your presence, and feel encouraged by the support of others; please guide him to those who can lend him support, and professionals, that can help heal and guide him; may the burden of his illness be lifted so he may have a moment of clarity to give him hope about the future; please help him to have strength, and to feel worth while; please help him to have the energy to help himself, too; please guide the words of those who offer him support.
