  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello,

Please pray that I can get my thought life under control. I feel so miserable and it is a constant battle. It may be spiritual warfare; I feel the constant burden of intrusive thoughts. I have bitterness and anger towards everyone and everything around me. Please pray.

Best,

CT

CT welcome to CF. I'm praying for you!

Yeah we can fill out heads with a lot.

If you have not started a daily routine of prayer and studying God's Word, I highly recommend so. In the Bible we learn and are exposed to God's Holiness and Love.

In prayer we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit to guide and protect us.

Finally, we have each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. If you have not found a Biblically sound and loving church I highly recommend searching and finding one. It's important to have contact with fellow believers as we are to all shoulder each other's burdens.

God Bless!

Again, spiritual judo comes to mind. Use the bad or wrong thoughts to become prompters of good thoughts and good actions. Train yourself to pray (when the bad thoughts come) "Lord, here is what has come into my mind. I know You don't like it, or want me to think about that, but about what is good. You are good, so I am thinking now about You, talking to You, and asking You to direct my mind on You and some good thoughts You would have me think." Isaiah 26:3; Philippians 4:8; 2 Timothy 1:7. Memorize some verses like these in advance, and when the bad thoughts come pray "Lord, I want to quote Your Word to You, and have You help me redirect my thoughts right now." Then start quoting and praying while you are quoting. Just like doing push-ups, it takes time and effort to gain strength. Keep that in mind as you follow this instruction, but don't quit, and you will get stronger and stronger, more and more in control of your thought life. Father, I pray that You will help this one remember what to do, and motivate them to do it, and bless them for doing it. Amen.

Hello Greg,

Thank you for this. It's real encouragement amid the dark times. Self-control and self-discipline are discipleship patterns that have to be actively cultivated.
Best,
CT
