My prayers are with you, P12.
I'd love to read your presentation. Not that you have to, but would you consider posting it?
God Bless!
Credo, Peace be with you.
It is unfortunately not in a format for posting. My style is also not to be tied to a paper when speaking, but have the presentation be more like a guided exchange of information. As such, I created a general outline to be used by those attending in following along and a detailed outline which they will get after the presentation. I am using the detailed outline also to present it to priests interested in having me do it in their parishes (and to non-Catholic pastors who are not followers of the "Left Behind" doctrine). But even the detailed outline alone doesn't possess the real fullness of the presentation. It is, after all, an outline.
Using the detailed outline, I created a power-point presentation (71 slides) which I will use to prompt me throughout the presentation. I don't have a projector available for my laptop, otherwise I would have considered doing the whole thing in power-point and handing out power-point note-taking guides.
I also have handouts. One is a time-line showing the "Left Behind" flow of events and the Scriptural "support" used with it. Another is on Daniel and is really too complicated to understand without hearing the presentation (it covers the dream - statue- of Dan 2 and the 70 weeks in Dan 9 in pretty serious detail). Then there is a full study of 1 Thess 4:13-17 and two handouts regarding the dating of Revelation. While I don't have a handout of a study of Mt 24 and 25, we do cover that in pretty good detail, especially Mt 24:40-41.
I have rehearsed the timing twice now and it goes about 2 hours and 30 mins. For this Sunday, I may only have 1 hour and 45 minutes, but I will try to convince them to let me have the extra time. I truly think they will enjoy it and not notice the time. If they don't agree, I have already pegged things which I can cut back on or cut out without destroying the whole presentation.
I am very excited about this! I have learned so much and felt my faith increase as a result of preparing for this. I also feel the message is needed and good, which may help others.
My wife has asked me to video it, so that we can send the video to her grandparents who are very interested in this topic and have only recently come back to the Church after seventeen years of seperation. I am praying for guidance on that now. If I do video it, I would consider giving that to whoever wants it (depending on how bad I look in it and how expensive it gets!!!!).
I can offer to you (and anyone else) by email anything that I am using that you might like. I only offer it along with the caution that it, alone, does not convey the full meaning of the presentation and could be read wrongly.
If anyone lives in the area of Fredericksburg, VA, they are more than welcome to come to the presentation. Just PM me for details.
Thank you for the prayers and support.
God Bless,
P12
