Prayer request:

My friend's 2-year-old daughter is very sick.

She was not feeling well and my friend took her to the doctor on Tuesday. They said it was a virus. On Thursday, the baby woke up with a 104 fever and panting for breath. My friend's doctor said to wait until Friday and if she wasn't better to bring her in.

She didn't wait and took her to the ER on Thursday night. At 2am, she was flown by helicopter to another hospital. Once there, they discovered a collapsed lung and pneumonia. Today tests showed she also has bronchitis.

She has been on a ventilator since Friday and being kept sedated as much as possible so she doesn't mess with her tubes and IV's. They're planning to keep her on the ventilator until Thursday and she'll likely be in the hospital at least through Saturday of next week, possibly until next Monday or Tuesday.

They were able to downgrade her from critical to serious, but stable condition today.

Although she's improving, she's still a very sick little girl and any prayer would be appreciated.

Father God, thank You that You have granted the parent wisdom to bring the child in when she did. Thank You for having mercy and bringing healing to her. I thank You for all that You have done, and all that You will continue to do.
May Your angels watch over her, until Your healing is complete and then always and forever, In Jesus Name, Amen

Update:

They were able to take her off the ventilator this morning and she's held her own since then.

She still has a ways to go before she can go home. She wouldn't eat or drink anything today and they had to put her feeding tube back in, which she did NOT like.

She has a fever again, which may derail the plans to release her on Monday or Tuesday. If she still has a fever then, they'll keep her until her fever is gone for 24 hours. So please be praying that her fever breaks and stays gone.

I'm going to see her tomorrow and will give another update tomorrow night after I get home from work.

Please continue to pray for her. She's made great progress, but there's still progress to be made.
