  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I will be going on my meditative summer break soon. How soon? I'm not sure yet.

I've been considering writing a meditative book on Mary, as the Living Temple of the Lord. However, I think I should focus on the basics first. My plan is to first, do a line-by-line meditation on the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory be, and then, start a meditative read-through of both the Bible, and the Catechism. It is when I do my meditative read-through of the Bible and Catechism, that I will consider writing the book. I would like prayers that, if writing the book is a good idea, the Holy Spirit will prompt me to write it, if not, the Holy Spirit will prompt me to focus on my prayerful read-through.

best to do the read-through first and let the Holy Spirit open both Catechism and the Bible to you, and make notes as you go.
The book on Mary is a good idea in the short term, but the read-through will yield priceless treasures of wisdom that can be used as well as re-examined for deeper understanding over the space of a lifetime.
