  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I could put this in prayer requests, but I thought that most of you can relate to this much better, and would know better how to pray for our friends than anyone else.

A good friend of my husband's is in the middle of a bitter property dispute with his ex. It's pretty horrible.

It's gotten so bad that he can't pay his bills. Further, the ex let him have the kids for their 6 weeks with him, but wouldn't let the kids take their clothes with them - they could only take the clothes on their backs (4 kids ages 6-13). Thankfully with the support of their church, the kids have plenty of clothes.

He's remarried to this wonderful woman who knew this going in, and has been a real pillar of support for him. Still, the horrendous child support and property payments is bankrupting them (him and his wife - the ex is doing just fine financially).

He's a great guy, a Christian, member of Promise Keepers, etc. Him and his wife don't deserve this. I would greatly appreciate your prayers that they can weather this storm and get back on their feet. Thank you.
