CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sometimes it's good to verbalise prayers if you feel your mind wandering - it helps me to keep with it anyway.
But it's good to keep an "internal dialogue" with the Lord as much as you can too.
Learning to pray with others has been really helpful to me too, and I'd highly recommend you try that.

All that I need, is a song in my heart. . .
I pray in my mind throughout the day (or atleast I try to) I would like to be someone that prays continuously so that each moment can be conversation with my creator even when I am doing and saying other things.
But when I am doing devotions or purposely praying to God alone, I prefer to pray outloud and if there are people there nearby and I don't want to disturb them I will usually just do it under my breath. It does seem to help to verbalize things though. Some things can be kept in your head though and remember since satan can't hear our thoughts, he can't answer attack or confuse those prayers though he can place random doubt and insecurity in your mind.
