CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can you all pray for Lori Berenson and Victoria Liljenquist? They are two women in the news who need Christ, but they don't realize it yet. Can we pray that God will break down their barriers and give them faith?

Lori is in prison in Peru for associating with a terrorist group. She can't see how her own choices and behaviors led to her situation, and she spends a lot of time in bitter protests. She has been denied early release on appeal. She doesn't have faith in God. In fact, she sees herself as the savior of Peru. She is an American who can't understand why the Peruvians don't like her. She has no relationship with God.
Victoria Liljenquist is a woman who believes that space aliens have selected her to be the link between them and us. She predicted that aliens would descend onto the Winter Games last Thursday and make her their representative. She says that the aliens told her that they had ordained for her to save the world through their superior abilities.
Both women want to be a kind of christ, but cannot understand that Christ was already here, and came to save them. My heart is just burdened for both of them and it would be a great service to me if you could help me pray for them. Looks like satan has a stronghold within them, one that cannot be easily broken. I find savior-types to be the hardest to reach with the gospel.

i agree we should say a prayer for them. But We should post all of our prayer requests in the Prayer and Advice Forum. More will pray that way.

Here is a copy of the latest list compiled by WhitBit . If you want to keep up to date, it is at the Prayer and Advice Forum. Now, Remember, You do not have to pray for all of them. To pray fervently for them all would take a week, so look at them and let God guide you on your choice as to who should be prayed for.

Amen, brother.
I know I can use all the prayer I can get, and I have found that actively praying for others helps me keep a cooler head here on the board than I might normally have.

Well, I am praying and trusting that God will work here. It seems almost hopeless at times, but at least the seed is planted and the Holy Spirit can work.
