The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah, I'm still on meds and seeing a therapist. I've let myself fall back into something I quit for 15 yrs. I don't like it, yet it makes me forget what's going on. I don't think God will do anything until i quit.

Bro don't compare yourself with society. God made you to be you, you can only be an expert in being Amin.
I was listening to dicussion about Imus and basketball players and caller had it right. Do give your selfesteem over to other people, people who don't know what great person you are.
Also realize EVERYONE has problems, even people in suits and ties. Don't feel like your the only one, just keep working on your spiritual maturity and things will get better.
Don't forget society and the world is drowning in Sin. Don't compare yourself to that, only person you should try to model after is Jesus. Realize he is perfect and we are not, so do get upset if cant be like him completely.

I'm not sure if I have hope anymore. I know all the things you're saying are true. I was a deacon for 6 years and a music leader for 5 years. There wasn't enough I could do. Now It seems as tho I don't care if I do anything. I wish I knew whatv was happening. It's all a guess for me. I know God kNows. I just wish He would do something in spite of myself.

hmm.. Don't fight this battle alone bro. Don't let pride stop you either. Talk to your church family or theorpist, problem might be deep and just can't see it. Let someone you trust help you sort things out and find what is causing this pain.

I realize all you say is true. As far as my pastor, he's off my list. I tried to talk to himand he said it was all my fault that I could pull out of it if I wanted to, But i like the sympathy I get from people. How's that for a pastor?
