  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayer Walking

This is what wikipedia says:
"A prayer walk is an activity that consists in walking and praying at the same time[1]. It's done not for the physical benefit but for the spiritual exercise, either publicly functioning also as a demonstration or rally (to let other people know the group is praying), or quietly in sight of the subject. For instance, a person or group may be praying for a town or city, and walk the streets of the city while praying, either out loud, or in silence."

I have done this years back with my former church for Good Friday and I liked it, but otherwise I haven't done anything else like this.

When I walk I usually have my iPod with me and am doing some sort of speed walking so the intensity level of my walking is too rigorous to prayer with all that going on.
Do they have Piggly Wiggly in Russia? I thought it was only in Wisconsin . . .

Well I believe prayer should have one goal and focus. You pray before you eat, not while you eat, because you need food to survive. Now I'm not saying you can't walk while you pray. I'm saying why practice the art of exercise during prayer? That's working on two goals. If your prayer leads you to walk around fine, but no need to practice prayer walking, IMO.
