Hi,
I'm requesting for everyone to please pray for me. I am really really struggling with my faith right now and God. And just from a young teen perspective, please, all of you pray for the young people in your church, those who were brought up in the faith and those who weren't. I've attended the SDA church all my life and have Christian parents, but I still struggle with my faith. I find people in my church tend to look at me and say "Oh, she has Christian parents, she's attended church every week, I'm sure she's fine." However, I long for someone from my church family to just ask how I'm doing during the week or on Sabbath. I attended a secular school, so the only interaction I get with my Church family is just once a week, on Sabbath. Please please pray for the young people in your church and keep in touch with them during the week. Even a small e-mail from someone would make my day. I really hope that I don't sound like I'm putting our churches down...I'm not. I really do love my church family but I just wish my church family would keep in touch more with other members/non-members of the church. But if you guys could keep me and my church family in your prayers, that would be great!

I can really understand where you're coming from. I'm one of the ones who was not born into it, but I know the feeling of wishing I could have more interaction. :) It's a very rare occasion I'm even able to attend at all.

I'll be praying for you and others like us for sure! If you want, please feel free to PM me sometime. ^_^

Blessings and a Happy Sabbath
Sarah

Hello Starlight,

I am praying that you will experience the Love of God more and more everyday. I do not know exactly what you may be going through but I hope this is that will encourage you to hang on.

"Many who are sincerely seeking for holiness of heart and purity of life seem perplexed and discouraged. They are constantly looking to themselves, and lamenting THEIR LACK OF FAITH; and because they have no faith, they feel that they cannot claim the blessing of God. These persons mistake felling for faith....

We are not to trust in our faith, but in the promises of God. When we repent of our past transgressions of His law, and resolve to render obedience in the future, we should believe that God for Christ's sake accepts us, and forgives our sins.

Darkness and discouragement will sometimes come upon the soul, and threaten to overwhelm us; but we should not cast away our confidence. We mus keep the eye fixed on Jesus, feeling or no feeling. We should seek to faithfully perform every known duty, and then calmly rest in the promises of God.

At times a deep sense of our unworthiness will send a thrill of terror through the soul; BUT THIS IS NO EVIDENCE THAT GOD HAS CHANGED TOWARD US, OR WE TOWARD GOD...

Satan may whisper, "You are too great a sinner for Christ to save." While you acknowledge that you are indeed sinful and unworthy, you may meet the tempter with the cry, "By virtue of the atonement, I claim Christ as my Saviour. I trust not to my own merits, but to the precious blood of Jesus, whch cleanses me. This moment I hang my helpless soul on Christ." Messages to Young People p. 111,112

Here is a promise for you. Grab hold of God and He will not let you go.

"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out." John 6:37

"And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." John 10:28

God bless you,

DD

Hi Starlight,

First let me say that you are in my prayers. I also fully understand how you feel because I also was raised in a SDA home and everyone just knew that I had to understand everything there was to know about being a Christian, especially a SDA. WRONG!!!

Please know that you are welcome to consider us here in this forum as part of your church family also. If you would like to talk more about how to feel more involved as a young person, please feel free to PM me, and I will share some very good ideas that you may find to be very helpful. You are also welcome to post any biblical questions you may have in the Bible Study sub-forum or to make any suggestions that you feel would be helpful in helping young people.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime even if its just to talk. You are about the same age as one of my grand-daughters so I am quite used to hearing from, and about, young people.

Respectfully, your friend in Christ,
Doc
