  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hey guys, my half sister just called a couple hours ago... apparenly her husband is in the hospital.. he's been having issues with his stomach and stuff.. and i cant remember the meds he's on but it was something that could cause liver issues. so he's in the hospital right now, and they've been running tests on him, and about a week ago they thought it was probably going to be cancer.. liver cancer I think it was... anyway, if you could keep him in your prayers please. he's only like 42ish... thanks a lot. flowers.gif smile.gif I'll keep y'all updated.

My mom just got off the phone with my sister... apparently after a test today it's a huge tumor in his stomach that is 1/3 of the size of his stomach... it's inoperable.. if it's in one place, he can have radiation.. if it's in another place, there's nothing they can do.... he's got two kids (19 and 14) and two step kids (26 and 24)... so please keep him and his family in your prayers.

I just got home from the hospital. Apparently the doctor came in today and he has cancer surrounding his entire cavity in his stomach surrounding his organs, so there's not really anything they can do. They're going to give him chemo through a catheter (sp) that should allow him to live for about 10 months (without the chemo like 6 months).
I can't really think of anything else to say about it, but please keep him and his "immediate" family in your prayers.. My sister is taking it really hard and i feel really bad for her. He has 3+ older kids that he doesnt have much contact with, and two kids with my sister. Katie is 19 and Elizabeth is 13. Neither of them know the details and multiplications of it.

Anyway, I feel really bad. For the first time in my entire life I've seen tears in my dad's eyes. But he's not good with bad news and stuff so he's not looking too supportive to my sister. sad.gif

He's got a mother who is in a nursing home with bad health, a brother who had a heart transplant....
Ok, that's all, i'll stop rambling a bit now. Just please pray for his family. smile.gif Thanks much!

bumping this because I wanted to share.

I wish I was in this good of spirits if I was in the hospital.

A girl came in to check his vitals and stuff.. she went to prick his finger to check his sugar. He said to her "Now when you put this in, could you twist the needle back and forth to make a big gash in my finger?" I think she looked him like he had two heads, she said something like "I can't do that!" and then he goes "you did it yesterday!" :D
hahaha, he was totally just kidding, just messing with the poor nurse. :D Some people just have a great sense of humor. :)

We went last night and my sister was really down, very sad, because he's not doing well at all.

My mom just called, my sister called her, he's been given like 2 days. :( My sister is taking it pretty hard (obviously) and I'm sure my neices don't know yet (one's in college 3 hours away and the other should still be in school at this hour).

Just pray for them, please. It's gotta be tough losing someone to cancer at such a young age. :(

That brings a tear to my eye. Cancer is such a horrible thing that Ive had to see personally with many people I have known. Ive lost both my grandparents to it, and my mom has already had it once. I was present in the room with my grandma at 4 am when she died of cancer last year. May God bless you and your family, and especially your sister's husband.

Just want to let you all know he passed away today about 5:45. I'd stepped out of the room for about three seconds to get some cool air and then i hear my neice start bawling. Sure enough.
My sister and neice are taking it pretty hard and the other one doesn't know yet. It was a long day.

On the bright side, for a nice smile, he told all of us that there's a burger king on every corner in heaven... so we all decided he's at burger king right now =)

and other blessings that came out of this... my (half) brother finally spoke to my dad after about 12 years. We haven't had contact with him in that long. (Edited to add that it wasn't through us, it was him. we'd tried to keep in contact and he avoided us and didnt come around.)
and my brother in law made my nephew promise that he would get his life straightened out. He was drinking way too much for awhile, and had gotten three dwi's but only been convicted of one so far. =)

anyway, just wanted to let you all know. thank you for the prayers, but please continue praying for my sister and my neices. they're going to be pretty upset for a while. they've held on pretty strong until now, and it's all coming. thanks guys.
