Prayer Request from Camp...

Hey all!

I know I havent been around because I am away at camp all summer, but as the summer draws near, I am starting to panic because I dont know what to do after camp. I could go back to university but I realyl dont feel God leading me that way.

I have a very strong call to be a missionary and I cant escape it. I need to follow Gods calling but I just dont know where to go.
I am looking into YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and I have requested information and its totally something I would love to do. I am looking at their DTS (Decipleship training schools) in Maui and South Sydney. This is something I would lvoe to do.

I really would like some extra prayers right now. BEcause my parents really want me to go back to University in the fall and I dont want to. I mean I would like to, but its not what I desire to do. And I cant immagine spending all that money just so I dont have to fight with my parents.

SO if you could pray that something opens up for me quickly that would be great. I know God has something planned for me, because I know going out to camp for the summer is what He desired, and I know that since I did drop everything that He has something planned, but I just hope He reveals it to me before the end of the summer, or my parents are going to chop my head off if I dont go back to University again in this fall

Your prayer request made me think of a sermon that I heard recently. It was about the calling of the disciples. Particularly when Jesus called James and John, the sons of Zebedee. In the Gospel of Mark, in Chapter 1, verse 20, it says "Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed." The preacher said you can bet that wasn't a pleasant Zebedee family moment! That thought has just stayed with me. I am very guilty of letting others (mainly my family) influence my decisions. But this taught me that sometimes when we are called to follow, it can mean not doing what others may have planned for us, but doing what our Father has planned for us. Which at times may take a lot of courage and strength for us to do.

So, I pray that you will get the confirmation from the Lord about what his plans are for you and that you have the strength and courage to follow them through. What an exciting (and stressful! ) time for you! Keep us updated. I am interested to hear what happens.
