Prayer Request for a family

I know this is a prayer request. But I have come to appreciate the discussions and support in this forum.

A friend of mine called yesterday to tell me that her sister had been murdered. Her husband shot and killed her and then himself with their two little boys (9 and 11) at home. The boys were awoken by police and had to see their mother's body. The boys are staying with their dad's parents right now.

My friend and her family are flying in today for the funeral on Tuesday. I have offered for them to stay with us. I know it is Christmas. But I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than to have them with us, during this time.

I will let you know what is happening. Please, please pray for the whole family. They need it.

Thank you so much for praying. My friend is such a gentle Christian woman. I can't believe this has happened in her family. She is from Alberta too (I see that you are as well). We are in Winnipeg here, where the funeral will be. Her plane gets in, in about an hour and I haven't heard from her yet. So maybe she already has a place to stay.

Thanks again for the prayers. Your kids are gorgeous by the way! Wow. What a great family.

Did this happen in Winnipeg? What an awful thing for any family to endure....I can't imagine the deep pain it must cause the family.

The murder happened in Anola Manitoba. Not far from Winnipeg. Here is a copy of one news report...

RCMP confirm Anola deaths murder-suicide

RCMP confirm that the deaths of a man and a woman in an Anola area home Thursday morning were caused by a murder-suicide.


Police entered the home around 8:00 a.m. after responding to a domestic dispute complaint around midnight.

They found the body of a woman inside. She has now been identified as 36-year old Angela Proulx.

An autopsy has revealed she died of blunt force trauma.

The body of her husband, 38-year old Robert Proulx, was found outside the home. Police say he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Two young children were in the home at the time, and are now in the care of relatives. The investigation continues. CJOB's Kacey Wilson reporting.

Something similar happened where we used to live. It really shook everybody up. I'll be praying for this family and especially those children.
