Prayer please

I am in need of some prayer. I’m going through a separation and then a divorce. This causes me to have panic and anxiety attacks. Please pray for God to give me strength and help through this, and to take these attacks from me.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I realize that the marital crisis you’re facing is emotionally painful and filled with uncertainty. I’m praying for you and your spouse, asking the Lord to work powerfully to accomplish His good purposes. I’ll especially pray that He may comfort, strengthen, and uphold you. Remember that God cares about you, and He is gracious, merciful, and wise beyond all comprehension. He loves you more than we, as mere human beings, can even imagine. Be sure to stay close to Him through prayer because He is able to provide guidance as you turn to Him for help. Proverbs 3:5-6 gives this wonderful assurance: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.”

Father, I know You hate divorce (Malachi 2:16). I know that fornication is not a reason You will accept for divorce, but a reason that a divorce is not caused by adultery (Matthew 5:32). I know that You approve separation of man and wife for a temporary time under the right conditions (though I forget the passage for that at the present), but that You expect them to come together again, whether it is after closing a fast, or working out marital problems. I would pray that Your power can be utilized, and that people would submit their wills to You in order to sustain their marriages, which are to glorify You and Christ's bond to the church, not just for the happiness of the people involved. May we learn to do things Your way, and not ours or the world's. Amen.
