Prayer needed

please pray for my work situation. I have been working there 23 years and I’m not sure what’s going to happen with my job.

What I do is highly specialized, so it’s not the kind of job I can get w/o relocating.

My entire family is in this city. Grown children and two grandchildren, besides aunts, cousins, nieces, ect.

I am so down. I thought I would work there until I retired.

What is the situation? A family friend of ours got laid off a company he'd worked at for roughly 20 years due to the company destabilizing and having to lay off even the most loyal workers.
I'd imagine it's terribly disheartening. I pray things will look up, work really can be such a big part of ones identity. But, should the worst case scenario happen, know that God has a plan for you.. Unexpected good can come out of even the most terrible things...God in his infinite wisdom has odd ways of leading people. Trust in this and all will be well.

Father, I pray that You might be able to step in and stabilize the situation in such a way to bring peace of mind. If it is Your will to uproot this person, I pray that You will give them the faith and assurance that You will provide for them all that they need. Whether they stay or go, may they find Your ongoing will, and be submissive to it, and blessed in this. Amen.

It is more due to our positions and how much we make.

Pretty much what they want to do is get rid of the people that have been here a long time and are at a higher pay scale, so they can replace those people with new people who will work for about 20,000 dollars less per year.

The issue is that they told us they were not going to try to get rid of us in the higher pay scales, but were going to let a transition happen naturally with new hires at a new lower pay scale and us keeping our jobs. Now they are going back on that and trying to get rid of the people who have been here forever and told we were not going to loose our jobs and hire as many people as they can at the lower pay scale.

Had they been honest and forthright, I would have updated my skill set about 5 years ago. But they purposely fed us the lie, so we would stay til they were done with us.;
