  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Lord,

I lift up K to you. This can be a dangerous surgery. Please send the Holy Spirit down to K and help her make the decision you would like her to make. If she decides it is your will to do so, please keep her healthy and free from infections and set backs.

Father, the emotional issues that effect eating will not be gone. Help her to be in your will and go where you lead her to deal with this problem.

There is still a lot of struggle after this surgery with eating habits. I just saw a program about it which interviewed people who had the surgery and the problem they face after it.

This program did not cover any of the medical problems that people have, but the control of eating that still has to be faced.

I, personally, believe that God can do a work in us showing us how to overcome these problems in our lives and teaching us methods for success. And helping us to develop maturity and contol in our lives.

I have had a lot of eating problems and find that even a half day fast, as led by the Lord, will help break that food lust that drives your eating. I have to do that often, because I get bound again quickly. Sometimes for a period of time I have fasted mornings. It also cuts down on the hours a day that you are eating. We gain weight when we eat late at night. So if you can stop late night eating and limit yourself to certain hours, it will start shrinking your stomach. You can then allow yourself to eat nice meals to full, not overfull during those hours.

Also, concentrating on eating healthy foods and exercising helps a lot. Who wants to move to exercise if you are stuffed.

The Lord started ministering to me that food was taking over and I wasn't having anything else in my life. It was costing me everything.

I started trying to let him get my focus off food all the time. What delicious thing was I going to stuff myself with next. And then be too miserable to do anything until I wanted to eat again and had to prepare more food.

I was married but most of the time too stuffed to enjoy sex. etc. Didn't want to do outdoors things, couldn't move freely. You become chained to the refriderator and stove.

That is not a full life. Even eating become boring after awhile and you are not really satisfied.

Like anything else, when you try to walk in God's way instead of your own, you start making progress in another direction. He will help you, even though you feel you fall many times. You will progress farther and father, both physcally and spiritually.

Any area you conquer helps you to be more confident to be able to master other things.

We are called to be overcomers. Hard isn't it. lol

Love,

Robin
