If you can remember among your others prayers and preoccupations, would you please say a prayer for my sister, who is currently in a high-dependency unit in hospital, in Perth, West Australia, struggling with an infection, after a hysterectomy.

She has fluid on her lungs, which makes her breathing difficult, and is restricted to a limited fluid intake for that reason. The doctors are having to balance various things which can countract against each other, so they have quite a difficult task.

She was told she would probably be returning to the ward, yesterday, so she was in high spirits. Now that the infection seems to have recovered somewhat, though, she was rather dejected today.

My poor brother-in-law has quite a job on at the best of times, looking after my mother, who has dementia and other difficult physical ailments which impose a lot of work on him.

Oh Paul! I am so sorry to hear this.

Dear Lord, please look down in mercy, and help Paul's sister as she struggles with this infection. We pray for the medics who are helping her, and we pray also for her husband, also struggling with Paul's mother with dementia. Lord, this is a heavy cross to have to carry, but we pray for strength for him, and help and comfort for the whole of this family. Thankyou Lord for our dear brother Paul, who is such a wonderful blessing on this forum. amen

Don't say things like that, rowantree! I always inhale flattery - otherwise, it would be OK.

But, seriously, thank you for your kind prayers.

Father God, I pray and ask for Your loving mercy over Paul's sister in law so she will be restored to full health. Strengthen his brother in law as well that he will have more than enough energy to look after his wife and mother. Bless them all with healing and peace, In Jesus Name, Amen

Perhaps I'll have a little more news for you all, tomorrow.

John told me that if she requires dialysis again, she might just prefer to turn it down, although she was told they have new dialysis machines. I expect they're the portable one you can use in your own home. But it still ravages your arm where they put the thing in, I expect. Well, we shall see. Perhaps it won't come to that. At the moment she just needs to get over the infection, for which all your prayers are so welcome, all of you. Thank you.
