Prayer for My Move

I need prayer for an upcoming move. I have not had a real home in years. My current situation has triggered many of my bipolar episodes over the last six years. It is definitely time to move. I've saved up money and have one promising lead. While the increase in rent will be a stretch... I think it will be worth it in terms of mental stability.

I'd appreciate prayer for wisdom in making the right choice of roommate; continued provision so that I can pay all my bills and be a responsible steward.

Thank you all so very much for the prayer. I interviewed for a room for rent with a very nice woman around my age. She is just waiting for me to make up my mind. I have another place to look at tomorrow that is cheaper and in a nicer neighborhood... but I liked the woman I met yesterday. I think we could be friends.

I'm not going to make up my mind until I see the other room....

Thanks again... I'll post again on Friday when I've made my decision.

I pray for your move too. Going... but not knowing is one of the more difficult things that God sometimes calls his people to do. I look at the people in scripture who were going... but not knowing where they would end up. That in itself can be a faith builder or a big stress. So, I pray that the Lord will lead you to the right place at the right time.

Thank YOU!!! Everybody who prayed for me. I just put down first, last, and a deposit on my new home! I'm a bit stunned writing a check for $1400... I've never had $1400 in my account that wasn't already spoken for... but I was budgeting for this for the last six months.

I gave my 30 day written notice and now I'm going to Disney World!!!! Seriously. I'm on Spring Break... and I'm flying out tomorrow. Two words: Woo WHOOO!

Hello devoted daughter!!!

I had an awesome time at Walt Disney World!!!! If I could have stayed longer I would gladly have done so. If you've never been... I recommend you go. I think I got some of that much needed balance you prayed for for me. We stayed at this totally cool Disney Resort called the Pop Century. It had hysterically huge models of things like bowling pins, Rubrics Cubes, and even a giant Mr. Potatoe Head. I felt like God spoke to me in quiet ways-- probably because the hotel decor was so loud.... but now I'm back and contemplating my move.

Oddly enough, I'm scared. I haven't lived with anybody in a real home for years. I've lived alone since 1998 and before that I lived aboard a ship with 80 other missionaries. Prior to that I bounced around from pillar to post.

None of my living situations on dry land have been very healthy. I've had some really bizare living situations. The theme seems to be "How did I get myself into this one?" I've learned a lot from each situation... but now I just want a home that I can call a home. Minus all drama and heavy on the open communication.

I don't officially take up residence until May 1st... but she said I could start moving stuff in the middle of the month. I don't have much stuff to move since I live in a studio... but I will need help.

I want to be a good room-mate... not a neurotic pain in the butt. I don't want to have any cause to regret this choice. Please pray that God goes before me into my new home.

Hey DD,

Since I live in a really small studio I didn't think your words applied... but now I'm glad you said what you did. I started packing up today because I just didn't have energy after work to even want to think about it. I started around 8am... and now at 11:23 I've hit my peak. I feel good about what I accomplished and I actually am very nearly done. I'm going to take some time out to nap (I didn't sleep well last night)... then I'm going to pray, go to the beach maybe... and just chill. There's no rush after all. I don't have to be completely out until April 30th.

My new room-mate's name is Rose. Pray that she and I will have a really awesome living situation.

It's getting closer and closer... my move that is!! I'm so excited. I haven't done half the stuff I need to do about changing address yet... but most of it can be done online. I've got two nice guys from church willing to move the big stuff and two three female friends who have offered to help if I need it. I should take the help... make my life that much easier.

I'm glad that you have help with your move, it can be stressful alone, even to a studio, but regardless it is managable, and even better iwht help! I am so happy for you!!!! This weekend is the big day!!! I'm pretty much packed. All the main stuff. I just have stuff I need to take to Goodwill or just get rid of. I'm still hesitating over all the cleaning that I will need to do. Bipolar Girl that I am... when I'm depressed house cleaning is really low on my totem pole. I've got 6 years worth of dust to deal with and I'm considering Merry Maids.
