Prayer for gift....

Hey everyone! I have this insatiable desire to know about the gift of prophecy. I wonder if God wants me to be a prophet? That would be awesome! But here is my request... I have already asked for myself, but I can't exactly lay hands on myself lol (By the way I am a Southern Baptist ) I am asking for those of you who are led to read this thread to pray that this gift would become available to me and that God would make it an extremely powerful gift for His glory. Also that I would take myself out of the way allowing Him to use it for the maximum results. Thank you for anyone who prays... may God bless you all!

OK sbbqb7n16, as a Southern Baptist you are, of course, familiar wiith the SB definition of prophecy as it applies to us today. Right? But you sound as though you are seeking the gift as taught by the so called Carismatics of today. So which is it you seek? Forthtelling or Foretelling?

Um I guess both! Mainly forthtelling though. I personally believe that it is easier to minister to others through this method, than give a revelation about what is to come. Obviously, I still have more to learn

Well, my friend, may I then suggest to you to cease oraying for this gift as you obviously already have it! Be still and contemplate the gift and you will see what I mean! Congratulations!
