CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Prayer for alcoholics

Adding: Mary left an abusive situation [mental] and has had a couple years of falling apart and depression which is for all intents and purposes a nervous breakdown. Its just a constant one - [which mine was too but didnt know it til i hit very bottom]
She repeatedly tried to quit only to have her codependent alcoholic 'flame' bring her alcohol...so they could drink all night.
She has had a very difficult life - stemming from abuse from a nun who had it out for her in elementary school [thats how long i've known her]
She is real need of facing she has PTSD - and needs guidance so she feels she can go back to work and pick up the pieces of her life.

Amen to that... For the parents of children who suffer from addition to alcohol and/or drugs. Especially for parents who have lost their children to overdose or alcoholic disease. God give us all the strength, courage, resources we need to help and not enable. Send the answer so many parents desperately seek. In Jesus name, through the intercession of our Lady, Amen.
