Prayer for a solution to an alcoholic problem

Lord Jesus, you know the problems that are suffered by the alcoholic and by those that must live with an alcoholic. You know how I am suffering with this problem now.

In your life in Galilee and Jerusalem you undoubtebly met and dealt with people who had this problem. I pray for the grace and the strength to learn how to deal with the problem in my life. I seek not only the gift of toleration and patience but a real and lasting solution.

So many lives are hurt and even ruined by the problem of alcoholism. I want you to spare these lives by granting your help. Grant the gift of lasting health, that all of us might serve you better. I ask this, Lord, in your name. Amen

I am in agreement with the words of your prayer. I just read your signature about your going to be gone for a couple months. I want to wish you well, success, growth, all the best in your recovery. You will be in my thoughts.

Thanks... I am positive at the end of my "sabattical" God is going to tell me exactly what I need to do (vocation wise)... I just have this feeling he's been leading me to this point to show it to me.

How's that verse go? "If you ask anything, in my name, it will be given to you"?
