PLEASE... pray for me that I may keep this job untill I find that great starting job within my field!
Hello all, just like most of the world, Belgium is going through a difficult time economically, and of course those of us that are trying to get that very first job are having a very hard time of it, no matter how high educated (or not) we may be. After all, why should you hire someone fresh out of school when you can also get a thirtyfive year old, experienced worker for the same money?
Anyhow... for the moment I have a job. A boring job in administration that I do not really like, but that pays the bills untill I find something that I'm qualified for. Unfortunately, my temp contract ends in about a month.(I was replacing someone on maternity leave). While both my supervisor, as her boss, as just about every staffmember has been urging the 'big boss' here to offer me a renewal, he doesn't really want to hire someone on. Not even when one person is retired, the person I'm replacing only comes back part time, two others are reducing their hours, and a fifth one is ill 80 % of the time.
I'll probably know something by tomorow. So please pray?
