  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a random time of praying to God for meals. If I remember I pray it before, if I remember it during a bite in the big mac...where Praying to God is much better than the taste, then I'd choose that option....or if I forget fully until I reach dessert and I realised what a great meal it was...I pray to God to thank him for a great meal.

I think most people find it easier to pray before the meal, because after the meal we usually jump into bed.
But for the bit of food critics that like food just right, kinda like myself, we need to get into the habit of praying as soon as we smell it....lol....

....to be honest, I don't think it really matters, just so long you thank God in your heart for the food.

[btw. don't take my words seriously, except the last paragraph]

My family does before most meals when we sit together, and when we are dining out.

I look at it as another chance to be with the Lord and my kids are there as well. Im not always so sure they take the proper time for Him (heck sometimes I dont) even though I remind them of spending time in prayer, but for just the few seconds it takes to bow your head and say a simple line or two from the heart, its worth it - even in absolute hunger!

The Lord doesnt put us on hold when he is dealing with heavenly things, I dont think we should put him on hold because we are hungry, dealing with earthly things, and can say thanks later, after the fact.
