  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can y'all pray for me, please. I am getting stressed. I just want to go to Mass so bad. I told my mom, imagine if u couldn't go to Baptist church for over a year but u are so on fire. It is very difficult. And I have two Catholic friends but neither are religious. In fact I am really the only religious person except a charasmatic guy (my school is like 88% Baptist, 8% Catholic, and 6% Pentecostal/charasmatic. just a guestimate tho). So plz pray for me I feel alone (oh and the charasmatic is anti-Catholic)

CB,

I will be praying for you. Is the problem that you don't have any way to get to Mass? If you could find someone to drop you off and pick you up once maybe you could find someone who would be willing to pick you up and take you to Mass on Sunday. Do you know anyone from when you went through RCIA?

I have run into young people in similar situations to you. Sometimes the only thing you can do is offer you suffering up to God, and ask him to comfort you until a time when you are free to go to Mass. At your age you must do as your Mother wishes, but protect your faith. God will be your comfort.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but your story sounds almost like a great one to me. It has all the makings of what a saint's childhood could have been like..."she loved the Lord and his Church so much that even at 14, faced with peer presecution and the strict forbiddeness of her parents, she held tight in her Catholic belief's and learned all she could. When she reached young adulthood she began attending mass regularly and continued spreading the Word of Christ..." Of course you'll have to finish this great tale ;)

I will pray for you sweetie

CB- unite all of your sufferings with the Holy Cross! And for now you could read the daily Mass readings and make a spiritual communion. It is what I do when I cannot go to Mass (always because of mommy responsibities)-- which pains me so grievously that I can empathize with your agony!

I will pray, little one!
