  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

of the Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor 12-14).

I recently found out the church we like to attend, their wednesday service is much more....intense....people were prophecizing and all sorts of things and I basically felt lost, confused and not spiritually 'up to par' with everyone else.

Some Christians are called to these, some aren't. It doesn't make the person called to love others any worse as a Christian than the person called to a more "dramatic" ministry, for example.

I'll pray for you now, but just remember: many people see things different ways, and there are many different perspectives on the gifts. Don't ever let yourself believe that you're inferior just because you're not dramatic. :)

Hi Kelly:

I totally agree with Susan. It is far more important to learn obedience to the Lord and to walk in the light that you have; some of the most powerful members of His Body are just the quiet praying ones.

Continue to seek the Giver rather than the gifts, and He will establish His authentic gift within you in His time.

Good advice from Susan and leastone. There is Scripture that points out that none of the gifts matter a hill of beans if we don't have love. Well, that is my summary of the scripture! :) Gifts that are given to us by God should be used to edify and build up the church, not to make the receiver of the gift feel better or more important than another because of the gift they have received. We all have different gifts and when put together, we all accomplish the tasks of building the Kingdom and the Church. We can't all be prophets or leaders or healers.

I am sure that God has and will give you the gifts He sees fit to so that you may accomplish the work He has set for you to do. Just pray and ask Him to show you what that is and then be ready to use what He so freely gives.
