Hello Christian Friends!

It has been laid on my spirit to pray for this website. Would you all please consider praying for christianforums.com and all of it's members and visitors?

Here's why:

I have noticed(and participated in, unfortunately)several "debates" on Christian doctrine, denominational issues, catholicism and other issues here. Some of these "debates" have been good-natured and very informative.

However, MANY of them have been very argumentative and downright mean-spirited. I too am guilty of this attitude! May God forgive me! I am not trying to point any fingers. I pray this will stop.

Here is a verse that I found that speaks to this:

Colossians 3(KJV)

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye

For many people... especially myself.... it is a fine line to walk between arguing a point with conviction... and being perceived as mean spirited.

Myself.....I don't typically judge the personality of a person based on an online discussion thread. I realize that people are trying to make their point.... and often about issues that are very very important to them. I judge the validity of their argument or discussion. I judge its merit. Because I know that many fine people who are true christians, who help others in the community, who would give you the shirt off their back .... will argue doctrine ferverently.

I believe a forum isn't a forum without some debate, when debates get out of hand we step in and try to cool it down a little or take appropriate action depending on the circumstances.

But I will pray (always do) for this wonderful site. I believe our staff does a wonderful job keeping things under control.

A Christian forum will always be a place for debate even heated debate.

Yes, I agree. The forum needs lots of prayer. May God guide each of us to be fair-minded and courteous to each other. And may all Christians strive to glorify God in all that is said and done.
