Pray for my heart

Hi, everyone.

I'm going with my campus ministry group on a spring break trip in two weeks. But it is not a fun-in-the-sun spring break trip. It is heavy duty service to the poor, something which I am not used to. I've heard rumors of the students visiting the place (Jesus People USA) getting some rather menial work there for a few days. I am signed up, and as such make the 7th person on the list. Any less than that, and nobody goes. I am not about to cancel and get in the way of what God wants to do in the lives of 6 of my brothers and sisters.

So would you please pray for me to have the heart of a servant, rather than a bad attitude about serving? This is definitely going to stretch me, and I can be difficult about that sort of thing sometimes.

Lord, I lift up twistedsketch and pray for Your guidance and wisdom upon this person. I pray for safe travel. Help this person to be a wonderful servant of God. Jesus' ministry was about loving others. Cover this person with Your loving spirit of compassion. Shower this person with Your precious Holy anointing. Guide this persons footsteps in every way. Open the window of this persons heart. Help this person to bring good news to the poor: freedom for the captives, site for the blind, liberty for the oppressed. Jesus showed great love and healing especially for the poorest. He let these people know that they are precious children of God, and are not meant to suffer. Help this person to pray with others. Help this person to hear the word of God. In the name of Jesus "Amen"
