Hello. My friend (age 16) recently told me that he passed out on Vodka in his room over the spring break and had to go to the ER. I can remember him being a trouble maker since 5th grade. Later, (next day?), he told me that he stole a bottle of DMX from CVS and is afraid of arrest. He did talk in 5th grade, 6th, 7th, etc, but now that he’s pretty much stopped talking to most people (10th grade), I feel like he must be depressed. In class I can see him constantly looking at his phone during class. He is not an ambitious person. He once showed me his grades, and I saw that they are quite poor and that he is taking many less classes than the regular student, and that the grades that he has are poor.

He asked me about my plans in life, and I told him. Then he told me his: he doesn’t know.

I also don’t know. I sometimes think about being a homeless wanderer.

His parents are Indian (probably Hindu).

I'm so sorry for your friend's struggles. It sounds like perhaps he has a lot of baggage and hurts in his life and is struggling to live with it all. But the good news is that God loves him very much! I will pray that one way or another God reveals Himself to your friend and that your friend will get to feel just how much he is loved.

I would hate for you to become a homeless wanderer. Don't allow your friend's lack of ambition wear off on you. You will have to live with the decisions you make early in life, so do yourself a favor by getting a good education and staying out of trouble. When you get to be my age (65), you'll want to have saved up enough money so you can retire.

Father, I pray that both these people will get a quick, condensed message of the truth that You would have for them both at this time in their lives. May this get their attention, and turn them towards the right path. May You enlighten them through Your Word, and give them direction and purpose in their lives. May You set them from from the darkness and deception of the ungodly philosophies of this world, and from the hopelessness and purposelessness that many are facing in this world today. Please send them a well-grounded Christian to speak to them the things they need to hear, as well as literature and material they can have to study that contains portions from Your Word. May Your Spirit continue to watch over them and lead and provide for them. Amen.
