Pray for Me

Dearest Friends at CF,

I don't usually ask for prayer from anyone at all, I feel as if my own prayers are being heard loud enough by my Father, but this time it's different. I am thankful that I will not be asking you to pray with me because something bad is happening to me. Rather than that, I am happy to announce that I am requesting prayer so that our Father can help me see clearly what He wants me to do for Him.

You see, I am fixing to get baptized in Jesus' name. I am ready to become a full-time Christian, devoting every part of my life to Him. And ever since I joined my church Christ Tab in Glendale, NY, I've had a feeling that the Lord is preparing huge things for me. I have a feeling that He will use me to help others meet Him.

Now here's where anyone who wants to pray with me comes in. Basically, I have some trouble knowing when God is trying to talk to me. Sometimes I don't look/listen hard enough or I don't look/listen at all.

Please pray that the Lord guides me and helps me walk the walk and talk the talk. It's hard, especially for youths like myself nowadays to overcome peer pressure and be an individual. I am ready to walk in His light, but any prayer I can get to strengthen me is MUCH appreciated!

If you pray with me, I guarantee I have already prayed for You too

Father, please bless your daughter, who is offering her life to you so that she may be your hands in this world, your voice to those around her, your light in the darkness. Fill her with the strength she will need and send her peace in her heart and mind. Bring her to companions in her walk, who will teach and guide her and join with her in her life with you. Let her see clearly what you want from her, and send her what she needs to carry this out.

Congradulations Pink on your upcoming baptism. I can't help but rejoice at your desire to serve the Lord. He is working in you and He does have plans for you. As far as how you will know His leading, I can only say this: be in His Word daily. Get into the Bible and get the Bible into you. The Bible is the standard by which we test the spirits. The Lord will not go against what He has revealed in His Word. The more you understand and know of the Bible, the more sensitive you will be to His leading.

It will be a great joy to pray for you in this.

Lord, i pray that you would help her with your calling for her life Lord. The prayer's not working because your prayer antenna are not cleaned yet. They get cleaned in the baptismal tub (kidding.)

Sometimes I feel the same way, but I know God made me...and if you made something (or someone) you would want to keep track of your creation right? I think God is on the same sheet of music. The problem is that he answers prayers in so many different ways that it can be difficult to tell when your prayers are being answered some times.

I am reminded of a joke that goes like this...

One day there was a tremendous storm and the land began to flood. In one home was a man and he was a very prayerful man. As the waters began to rise above the first floor windows he prayed that God take him out of his home and rescue him...just then a man saw him in the window and paddled his boat over to him. The man in the boat said, "get in!" The prayerful man said, " no thank you, I'm waiting for God to get me." The man in the boat paddled away. As the prayerful man continued to pray for God to take him out, the flood waters rose to the second floor windows. Of course the man ascended the stairs and was seen in the second floor windows by a man on a jet ski. The man on the jet ski sped over to the window and said, "Hop on!" Again the prayerful man explained how he was waiting for God to get him. The jet ski sped away. As the prayerful man was praying the water continued to rise to the very top of the roof. The prayerful man climbed to the very top of his house and prayed that God save him. Just then he almost gets hit by a rope ledder and the pilot of a helicopter says, "get on!" The prayerful man shouts back that he is waiting for God. The chopper flys away. The next thing you know the prayerful man is swallowed by the water and drowns. He is standing before God and he ask him why he didn't save him. God replies, "You didn't get the boat, the jet ski, and the helicopter that I sent you?"

The moral of the story is that God does answer prayers...but its your job to figure out how he answered them.
