  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you could pray for me! My husband is addicted to prescription drugs (and an alcoholic)!! He is VERY abusive mentally as well as physically! I just want our marriage to end! I am afraid of him, and he won't let me have enough time to get clothes and the dogs and leave! He threatens my parent's and I don't know what to do! Am VERY desperate!!

Not only will I pray, but I think you need to get out of this situation immediately! Go to the police or a social worker or a woman's shelter and tell them what is going on and that you need their help. Please, do not stay in this situation any longer than you possibly have to. Don't become another statistic of a battered wife.

Dear Lord-
Please be with sarahwho and keep her safe. Please send someone to her or send her to someone who can help her get out of this situation and quickly! Give her the strength and the courage she needs at this time. I also ask that you be with her husband and help him to break the addictions he has and to stop causing pain to his family. Be with all in this situation. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

I pray for the Lords protection over You and your family. And that He will provide you a way out of this situation, and a safe place to go.

If you must leave without the dogs and extra clothing just do it. Those things are nothing compared to your life. You can get the police to go back with you later to get those things.
